My name is Maja Mihalinec Zidar and I am a sprinter from Slovenia. I started my athletic journey in 2003, after a school teacher noticed my talent as a sprinter. I was faster than all the boys in my class so I decided to switch from volleyball and give athletics a try. Sprinting was my first and only love and ever since then I've been competing in 60 m, 100 m and 200 m dash. Athletics has given me great opportunities. Through it I met many good friends, including my husband, travelled across the world and got the opportunity to obtain my bachelor degrees in Communication and Spanish language at the University of Nebraska - Omaha. I own a couple Slovenian junior records and am a 13-times Slovenian senior national champion. My greatest international achievements are sixth place over 60 m at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow and 12th place in the 200 m race at the IAAF World Championships in Doha. I won gold medals at two major international competitions; in 100 m sprint at the European Games in Minsk and at the World Military Games in Wuhan in 200 m sprint. I made my Olympic debut at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 games and am looking forward to compete in the Olympics again in Tokyo. 2021 EIC Torun 60m (5) 2019 EIC Glasgow 60m (6) 2019 World Military Games 200m (1) 2015 Balkan Championships 100m (1)Profile
