Anderson Peters defended his world championship title in javelin with a massive throw of 90.54m Anderson threw three times over 90 in one competition. That never happened before at World Championships. And also Anderson is first thrower after Železný (1993, 1995) to defend javelin title.

Tina won bronze medal in the pole vault with 4.75m.

Ján Volko:"K úplnej spokojnosti v roku 2021 mi chýbalo viac zdravia, ale občas treba zažiť aj neúspech a niečo, čo nie je príjemné. To športovca posúva dopredu a myslím si, že sa to stane aj v mojom prípade."

Český atlét roka 2021

1. miesto Jakub Vadlejch

Jakub vyhral svoj prvý titul Českého atléta roka najmä vďaka striebornej medaile z olympijských hier v Tokiu. Pikoškou je, že na trón Českého atléta roka zasadol po 15 rokoch muž, dovtedy to bolo výhradne v rukách českých atlétiek.

2. miesto Vítězslav Veselý

O ďalšiu olympijskú oštepársku senzáciu sa na oympijských hrách v Tokiu postaral Vítězslav Veselý ziskom bronzovej medaily. Na vyhlásení nebol prítomný.

5. miesto Nikola Ogrodníková

Nikola Ogrodníková zaujala tento rok najmä tretím miestom vo finále Diamantovej ligy a druhým miestom na Zlatej tretre v sezónnom maxime 65.13m, ktoré ju radí na 6. miesto v svetových tabuľkách.
